A network is the facilities, providers, suppliers, and pharmacies your health plan contracts with to provide health care services and ensure the lowest out-of-pocket expenses for members. You'll save money when you see a network provider and pay more when you see an out-of-network provider. Network providers will submit medical claims on your behalf. If you see an out-of-network provider, you may have to submit your own medical claims for reimbursement and may be responsible for charges billed to you above the allowed amount (known as balance billing).
